The Beyond Alcohol Project

The Beyond Alcohol Project exists to offer an alternative to the mainstream narrative of addiction and recovery through a more compassionate, empowering, and growth-oriented way of understanding what it means to struggle with alcohol and what it takes to outgrow it.

Created for sober-curious people, twice a week, I share bite-sized insights, inspirations, and reflections to help them make sense of their relationship with alcohol through a more compassionate lens and explore how to create change through empowerment and intention.

This newsletter serves as the public home of a larger book project: The Beyond Alcohol Project — a 90-day system to interrupt old drinking patterns and redesign an intentional life beyond alcohol.

By signing up, you'll be added to Jeanette's (that's me!) newsletter list. Rest assured, you can unsubscribe at any time.

Meet the Creator

Jeanette — the founder of Sober Curiosity

Jeanette is a former daily drinker and therapist-turned-sobriety guide who helps high-functioning drinkers break free from alcohol’s grip and go from white-knuckling it, feeling deprived, and missing the buzz to feeling free, confident, energized, and genuinely good about saying “No” to a drink.

Clients describe her as “one of the most kind-hearted and non-judgmental people they’ve ever met.” Her compassion-infused, empowerment-driven approach has been featured in The New York Times and regularly appears in Psychology Today.

Before finding her calling in the sober space, Jeanette once owned a tattoo shop in Beijing. These days, you’ll find her sipping tea with a good book in hand — and zero interest in hangovers.
